Ozzy Osbourne Opens Up About His Role in Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning Reunion Show

Black Sabbath is set to make a triumphant return to the stage with their highly anticipated Back to the Beginning reunion show. However, frontman Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that his involvement in the performance will be limited due to health concerns.

In a candid conversation on Ozzy Speaks, the legendary rocker shared his thoughts on the reunion and how much he will participate. “I’m not planning on doing a full set with Black Sabbath, but I will be involved in some way,” he said. “I’ll be doing little bits and pieces where I feel comfortable.”

This announcement comes as Ozzy continues to battle health issues, including Parkinson’s disease, which has significantly impacted his ability to perform. The last time he played a full set with Black Sabbath was in 2018, making this reunion an emotional and historic moment for both the band and their fans.

“I’m trying to get back on my feet,” Ozzy explained. “For most people, getting out of bed is easy, but for me, it’s a challenge. I have to take my time and find my balance. But I’m not done—I’m still here, still fighting, and still doing what I love.”

The Back to the Beginning reunion show is scheduled for July 5 in Birmingham, England—the birthplace of Black Sabbath. This performance will mark a significant milestone in the band’s legacy and, more importantly, the official end of Ozzy Osbourne’s live music career.

Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife and longtime manager, confirmed that this would be his final farewell to the stage. “This is goodnight to his fans,” she said. “The other guys in Sabbath will continue with their own projects, but for Ozzy, this is the end of the road.”

She also acknowledged the physical toll the performance will take on him. “It requires an incredible amount of energy to perform, and for someone with Parkinson’s, it’s even more challenging. But we are so proud of everything Ozzy has accomplished. He has overcome so much, and this show will be a testament to his resilience and dedication to his fans.”

With Black Sabbath’s legendary status in rock history, their Back to the Beginning reunion will be a momentous event, celebrating decades of groundbreaking music. And while Ozzy Osbourne’s role may be limited, his presence alone will make it a night to remember for fans worldwide.
